Hi, I’m selearah starre.

Why LivingEssence Exists

For much of my life I have been drawn to one recurring question: What are we Stewarding?

Whether through governance, art, research, design or systems thinking, my work has always begun with careful observation and curiosity.

Over time I realised these were never separate pursuits. They were different expressions of the same way of seeing.

That journey led to the development of Governance Stewardship, an approach that seeks to recognise, understand and strengthen the capacities that enable organisations, communities and places to thrive.

I believe meaningful stewardship begins with the recognition of coherence.

Only by recognising what matters can we make thoughtful decisions that strengthen adaptive capacity, support long-term resilience and create lasting impact.

For more than two decades I have worked across governance, systems analysis, organisational development, leadership, research and interdisciplinary inquiry.

My professional experience includes business analysis within higher education, state and national leadership roles within Telstra's corporate division, governance architecture development, policy implementation initiatives, and independent research into stewardship, coherence and systems thinking.

In 2016, governance architecture I developed contributed to award-winning implementation work recognised through the ATEM / Mindhive Governance Award.

Today, LivingEssence Creative Innovation brings together Governance Stewardship, Strategic Design, Strategic Naming Architecture and education through the JustBE Coherence Institute to help organisations understand, create, communicate and learn what matters.

Because meaningful change begins not with having all the answers, but with recognising what truly matters before acting.

My Approach

LASTING IMPACT

The most meaningful outcomes are rarely created through quick fixes.

They emerge when clarity reveals what matters, stewardship strengthens what is valuable, and decisions remain aligned with long-term purpose.

My work is guided by a commitment to thoughtful practice, integrity, curiosity, and lasting impact.

INTEGRITY

Working thoughtfully, transparently, and in service of long-term outcomes.

CLARITY

Understanding what is present before deciding what should change.

CURIOSITY

Remaining open to possibilities, overlooked capacities, and better ways forward.
