LivingEssence Creative Innovation

LivingEssence Creative Innovation is grounded in more than two decades of professional practice, applied governance work, published research and original interdisciplinary inquiry.

My professional background spans governance, risk, compliance, policy, business analysis, organisational systems, quality assurance, internal audit support, leadership, education and community-based practice across corporate, higher education and community settings.

Governance, Risk and Compliance Foundations

Earlier in my career, I worked across compliance, risk, quality assurance, internal audit support and organisational systems. This included experience in corporate compliance environments, audit and process improvement, quality systems, policy implementation and risk-based governance practice.

At the University of Southern Queensland, my work included audit and risk administration, policy support, business analysis and governance systems development. I contributed to university-wide policy and procedure framework activities, compliance reporting, risk analysis, policy library development, business requirements analysis and governance implementation processes.

Governance Architecture and Compliance Register Design

A significant part of my higher education work involved designing practical governance architecture to support policy, compliance, reporting and institutional assurance.

Within this broader governance architecture, I designed USQ’s first integrated Compliance Register. The register connected statutory and regulatory obligations, organisational responsibilities, operational controls, review cycles, evidence of compliance, risk categories and accountable officers across multiple levels of the institution.

The Compliance Register was one artefact produced from a wider governance architecture. That broader architecture also included Policy Library information architecture, policy alignment, definitions, reporting relationships, risk integration, legislative review and cross-linking between policy instruments, compliance obligations and risk records.

The Compliance Register itself was commended by a Queensland State Auditor for exemplary compliance governance design.

Policy Refresh and Award-Winning Governance Implementation

My governance architecture formed part of the University of Southern Queensland's Policy Refresh Project, an institutional initiative that strengthened policy governance, governance capability and long-term policy management across the University.

The project was subsequently recognised through the 2016 ATEM / Campus Review MindHive Award for Excellence in Governance and Policy, reflecting the quality of its governance design and implementation.

Published Governance Research and International Conference Papers

My professional governance work also contributed to published governance research and international conference papers in enterprise risk management, quality assurance and higher education governance.

These include:

Embedding a Risk Framework Using a SWOT Analysis, presented at the 22nd National Quality Education Conference in Milwaukee, USA.

Utilizing Qualitative Components of Risk Management as Evidence on How University Strategies Meet QA Criteria and Standards, presented at the INQAAHE Biennial Conference in Chicago, USA.

These works have continued to appear in later higher education risk, quality assurance, student success, academic integrity and international risk oversight literature.

LivingEssence Today

Today, LivingEssence Creative Innovation builds from this professional provenance.

Governance Stewardship extends earlier governance, risk, compliance and policy architecture experience into a broader stewardship framework.

Strategic Design gives coherent form to complex ideas, systems, places and organisational needs.

Strategic Naming Architecture helps organisations, projects and initiatives discover names that align with purpose and communicate what matters.

The JustBE Coherence Institute develops educational pathways that strengthen stewardship capability across disciplines.

Together, these streams reflect one continuing inquiry:

How can organisations, communities and living systems recognise coherence before acting, strengthen adaptive capacity and steward futures worth inheriting?
